The Korean Journal of Metals and Materials is a representative Korean-language journal of the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials (KIM); it publishes domestic and foreign academic papers related to metals and materials, in abroad range of fields from metals and materials to nano-materials, biomaterials, functional materials, energy materials, and new materials, and its official ISO designation is Korean J. Met. Mater.
Founded in 1963, the Korean Journal of Metals and Materials has been published twelve times annually, up to 1976 as the Journal of Metals (ISSN 0454-627X), from 1977 to 1999 as the Korean Journal of Metals (ISSN 0253-3847), and since 2000 as the Korean Journal of Metals and Materials (ISSN 1738-8228 / eISSN 2288-8241).
The Korean Journal of Metals and Materials has been registered with the National Research Foundation of Korea since 1998 and with SciVerse Scopus and the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) since January 2007.
